NIC-2018 Satellite School

NIC-2018 Satellite School on experimental and theoretical methods in Nuclear Astrophysics with applications

Nuclear astrophysics requires advanced experimental and theoretical methods to overcome the tremendous difficulties in the investigation of the nuclear processes happening in astrophysical environments. It is aim of the school to explore this field combining lectures with hands-on learning addressed to PHD students, young post D0cs and advanced undergraduate students.

The first two days will be devoted to general lectures. A three-day stage on one out of five different subjects will follow. More detailed info can be found in the program and the application form, available below.

The school will take place from June 18th to 22nd at the SNA Center in Caserta, Italy, with experimental sessions at the nearby 3 MV tandem laboratory at CIRCE .

Financial support from the organizing institutions and sponsors allows to offer accepted students free lodging in shared double rooms with complimentary breakfast and lunch, as well as transfer from the School site in Caserta to the “Nuclei in the Cosmos” conference site at LNGS. Participants are expected to cover all other expenses, e.g., travel costs and additional meals. The number of participants will be limited to 40.
